Stinking Feet
Have you ever done foot washing? It can be quite the experience, and I’m not referring to a pedicure. Loving people can feel the same way sometimes, humbling. Especially if we feel they don’t deserve our love. And yet in Romans 5:8 God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. It is truly easier to be preoccupied with ourselves rather than those around us. Serving can simply be tiresome. We have families to provide for, and jobs to do…. and yet we have been called, as Christ followers, ‘to serve one another in love’. Which, simply put, is to put the needs of others before your own. What can you do today to put the needs of others before your own. Where will you begin this very rewarding journey of serving others?
Galatians 5:13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
